Overview
For this project, I developed a fictional Christmas holiday design for L’Occitane en Provence, a luxury French company known for its body, face, hair, and home products. The design is inspired by the Nutcracker Ballet, a personal and meaningful choice, as I trained in classical ballet growing up. I wanted to bring a unique and whimsical perspective to the brand, blending tradition with elegance. As part of the campaign, I created a limited-edition set of four bar soaps, designed specifically for in-store sales during the holiday season.
Soap Box Designs

Each soap box in the set is thoughtfully designed to represent a unique moment or character from the Nutcracker Ballet, turning the unboxing experience into a visual and sensory journey. As the packaging unfolds, it tells a story inspired by the ballet's enchanting scenes and timeless charm. In Act 1, we're introduced to Clara at her family's festive Christmas Eve Party, where she receives a Nutcracker doll. That night, the magic begins, the tree grows, toys come to life, and a dramatic battle unfolds between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. After his victory, the Nutcracker transforms into a prince and guides Clara on a fantastical journey. In Act II, they arrive in the Land of the Sweets, ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy, where they're welcomed with dazzling dances from around the world. This collection captures the spirit of the holiday classic, inviting users into a world of imagination, and delight with every soap bar.
Box Interior

For the interior of the box, I wanted to reflect the tender moment when Clara awakens from her magical dream. After witnessing the Nutcracker’s battle with the Mouse King and her journey through the Land of Sweets, she finds herself back in her living room on Christmas morning. Though the adventure seems over, she holds the wooden Nutcracker close and dances with it, filled with wonder and joy. The magic still lives within her, symbolizing the lasting beauty of imagination and the holiday spirit. Soft colors and delicate details in the interior design help evoke this quiet, dreamlike transition.
